Why do you have an application procedure for limiting the number of merchants in your system?
We have verified that there is tremendous opportunity in our solution; at the same time, advanced knowledge of the eBay process is needed to run the system successfully. That means knowing the intricacies of the platform, understanding customer needs, and the professionalism to handle the difficult customer type that you inevitably get on eBay in 1 out of 100.
When can I start selling?
We are about to launch our product in mid-2011. We will run some earlier tests, so apply now to increase your chances of getting in ASAP.
Which countries can I sell in?
We currently support the US and the German market, with three more countries coming soon.
Why does this work in the first place?
Our patent-pending invention simply eliminates inefficiencies in consumer marketplaces. Our software usually lowers the price of a product and/or increases the variety of products offered on eBay. One key insight is that the average shopper on eBay does not compare product prices across marketplaces, but only compares prices between sellers on eBay. This allows you to have the lowest price on eBay while still having a nice mark-up over your product source. Also, in many cases the specific product is not sold by any eBay merchant; in that case your price is not restricted by competitors and your profit potential is even bigger.
If you can make money with this software, why don’t you use it yourself?
Although we have been casually selling on eBay for over a decade, we are software engineers. We are better at writing intelligent software than at trying to become pro eBay sellers. While we have successfully run the software to earn money with it, we believe that the concept is more scalable if we enable hundreds of other merchants to do the same. How would we support customers for millions of products for sale in five different countries?
How is this different from existing drop-ship services?
Don’t take our word for it — see for yourself, here are ten exemplary dropship services: Gold Crest, Fragrance Net, Lauren Company, Moteng, CWR Electronics, Stampede USA, Visual Solutions, Fulfillment Source, Jfit, Slappa. All of them have prices (for order quantities of 1) that are usually too high to constantly make a profit on eBay. It just does not work. In addition to that, each of these suppliers has only a very limited product selection, plus a dropship fee. Furthermore, you’ll have to manually go through their product catalog and copy/paste out the products you hope would sell well (that is, assuming they allow you to sell on eBay; some don’t even allow this). With AI Merchant software, all of this is streamlined. You have access to millions of products; the system presents you only with the most profitable opportunities that you specify, and with a few clicks you can publish a professionally designed listing to eBay with no hassle.
How will you hand out the market opportunities to the merchants?
We allocate the market opportunities on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you chose to act on a market opportunity, you will be the only merchant of ours who will be authorized and able to sell this particular product.
Why is it called AI Merchant?
The name came from the idea to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into merchant operations.
Do I have to share financial information with AI Merchant?
No. You will have 100% control over your accounts and we will not request any financial information from you. You only agree to pay any fees associated to the use of AI Merchant software.
What control will AI Merchant have over my store? Will it interfere with my other sales activities?
You will grant permission AI Merchant to add and revise items on eBay on your behalf. This is needed for the arbitrage process to work. Our software will not interfere with your regular sales activities, which you can pursue concurrently.
